How much do Mobility Scooter batteries cost?
The price of Mobility batteries depends on the size and type of battery. Mobility Scooters require two batteries and these vary in size based on the functions and specifications of the Mobility Scooter. Battery sizes range from 14Ah up to 80Ah for larger Mobility Scooters. Prices start from around $100 for 14Ah batteries up to $400-$500 for 80Ah batteries.

What kind of batteries do I need?
Mobility Scooter batteries are a type of Deep Cycle battery, designed to provide sustained power for the Mobility Scooter to operate as per the model/design and customers specific requirements. These batteries are fully sealed and transportable and safe to use in enclosed places and require no servicing (apart from recharging).
Note: Mobility Scooters should not have car batteries, starting batteries or wet flooded batteries installed.

How long should Mobility Scooter batteries last?
Mobility Scooter batteries come in a range of sizes so this generally means larger batteries last longer than smaller batteries. It also depends on factors such as the terrain the Scooter is used on, such as hilly or flat, hours of use, recharging frequency, and the correct type of Mobility Scooter for the customers requirements. Because of the varying usage factors many manufacturers warranty their Mobility batteries for 6-18months.
Note: At Green Circle we expect our larger batteries to exceed these warranty time frames.

Why does my Mobility Scooter battery indicator not light up fully?
This can mean the batteries are faulty and not recharging to their full capacity, and this would normally relate to a noticeable reduction in operating/running times. Another possibility is that the battery charging system is faulty and this is normally a fault within the sealed battery charging unit. On odd occasions battery indicator lights become faulty from water damage, blown LED bulbs or damaged wiring circuit.

My Mobility Scooter doesn't travel as far as it used to.
This is a common question and this often means the batteries are starting to wear out. This performance issue can slowly occur over several months or happen over a matter of days. One or two batteries maybe affected causing the overall performance to reduce. This can vary depending on the age of the batteries and whether the Mobility Scooter was purchased new or second hand. If purchased second hand it may have been sold with incorrect or mismatched batteries.

Can I install better batteries into my Mobility Scooter?
Often customers want to travel further or faster in their Mobility Scooter. Perhaps they have shifted areas and they now live in a hilly area or they want to be able to travel further to visit friends or go shopping. In many cases battery performance and Scooter travel time can be increased by choosing a battery with higher amperage or larger size, or a different chemistry such as GEL or AGM.
Note: To install larger batteries the battery size and type will need to be checked against the available space and specifications of the Mobility Scooter.
